Hey Shade Users - our team has been hard at work in improving the app experience around our app. Here are some of the items that we’ve worked on that enhance everything from sharing, to uploading, and more.

Shade in Under 2 Minutes

We just launched our Shade in <2 Minutes video - check that out here. This highlights how to use Shade’s AI feature for search, along with ShadeFS for editing and more.

UI Features

- Added native drag drop for mounted drives to the desktop app

- Added feature to modify ShadeFS cache size

- Added feature to publish folders so users can read-only view folders and files

- Upgraded the sharing dropdown to show all users that have access to the current folder/file

- Ability to move up and down the preview list using keyboard arrows

- Use description from EXIF data


UI Fixes

- Fixed checkout bug for monthly billed seats

- More robust retrying/error handling for uploads

- Fix 3d asset viewer

- Fix error where RAW images wouldn’t generate previews

- Support TONS more RAW image formats/extensions

- Support TONS more video formats/extensions

- Fix safari video player

- Exclude trash from search and facial recognition


AI & Metadata Fixes

- Use Description from EXIF Data


Auth Fixes

- Fixed a bug where permissions were shown with a lower-than-expected value


Infrastructure Upgrades

- We’ve increased stability and made huge upgrades to offer better performance when more users are uploading files at peak times. This avoids downtime across our entire stack.
